The Message of Three Great Men

Ezekiel 14

14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.  (KJV)

Throughout Scripture, God gives us many examples of faith. But here in Ezekiel, God Himself highlights three men whose lives preach a message to every generation: Noah, Daniel, and Job. These men lived in different times and faced different trials, yet each one shows us how a believer can live faithfully in a world that often opposes God.

Their stories remind us of three important truths:
Noah teaches us Salvation.
Daniel teaches us Separation.
Job teaches us Steadfastness.

Let’s take a closer look at the message each of these men has for us today.

Noah — The Message of Salvation

Read Genesis Chapters  6-7

The Bible tells us that Noah lived in a time when the world was full of violence, corruption, and godlessness. Yet in the middle of all of this, we find a beautiful verse:

“Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” — Genesis 6:8

Noah wasn’t saved because he was perfect or better than others. He was saved because of God’s grace.

That is where salvation always begins—with the grace of God reaching down to us.

Noah walked with God, he believed God’s Word, and he obeyed God’s instructions. When God warned him of the coming flood, Noah responded in faith and built the ark even when it didn’t make sense to the world around him.

Noah shows us that salvation is not only something we believe — it’s something that changes how we live.

Daniel — The Message of Separation

Daniel 1:8

Daniel was taken away from his home and placed into a culture that did not honor God. Yet the Bible says:

“Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself.”

Daniel made up his mind before the temptation ever came. He chose to live differently — not out of pride, but out of a desire to please God.

Our society often moves in stages:
Sin is first recognized as wrong,
Then it becomes acceptable,
Then popular,
Then it becomes wrong not to accept it,
And eventually it may even become celebrated and enforced.

But like Daniel, God’s people are called to remain faithful regardless of the moral direction of society. Separation does not mean isolation — it means belonging to God first.

Job — The Message of Steadfastness

Read Job Chapters 1-2

Job was a man of strong character and deep devotion to God. God Himself said:

“There is none like him in all the earth.” — Job 1:8

Job remained faithful:
When he was blessed,
When he lost everything,
When he was suffering physically,
When he was misunderstood,
And even when he didn’t understand what God was doing.

The Bible says:

“In all this, Job sinned not.” — Job 1:22

Job shows us what it looks like to trust God even when life hurts and answers are unclear.

Three Men — One Message for Us

These men remind us that:
We must be Saved like Noah.
We must stay Separated like Daniel.
We must remain Steadfast like Job.

No one can make these decisions for us. Each of us must respond to God individually.
