The Path to Salvation
The Bible gives us a simple and powerful explanation of how we can have peace with God and eternal life through Jesus Christ. Read and understand these 5 simple truths and receive eternal life.
1. We all need salvation.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23
No matter who we are or how good we try to be, we all fall short of God’s perfect standard. Sin separates us from God, and we cannot earn our way back to Him through our own efforts.
2. Sin has a cost.
“For the wages of sin is death…”
— Romans 6:23a
Just like working earns a wage, sin earns a consequence, spiritual death and separation from God forever. That’s the bad news. But God, in His love, didn’t leave us there.
3. God showed His love for us.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8
Even though we didn’t deserve it, Jesus Christ died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. He paid the price we could never pay, making forgiveness and eternal life possible.
4. God offers us a free gift.
“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23b
Salvation is not something we can earn, it’s a gift. Like any gift, it must be received. Jesus offers eternal life to anyone who will believe in Him and accept what He has done.
5. We must believe and confess.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
— Romans 10:9
To be saved, we simply come to God in faith believing that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. When we trust Jesus as Saviour and believe with our heart , we are forgiven and made a new creation in Him.
You can know you are saved.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…”
— 1 John 5:13
You don’t have to hope you’re saved. You can know. God promises eternal life to all who believe in His Son. That means once you’ve placed your trust in Jesus Christ, your salvation is secure.
If you’ve never trusted Jesus as your Saviour, you can do that right now.
There’s no magic prayer, but you can talk to God from your heart. Admit that you’re a sinner, believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, and trust Him as your Saviour. Then tell someone important in your life. And drop us a message to let us know so we can pray for you and offer support on your christian walk.
