What can I expect when I visit Gospel Light?

Child Care
We provide a nursery and childcare for your newborn or baby, where they will be kept safe. Our nursery workers are kind and loving people who will take great care of your children.

What should I wear?
There is not astrict dress code to attend our public services, but in case you’re wondering, many of our church members wear their “Sunday best” - the men in a dress shirt and dress slacks, some with a tie, and the women in modest dress.

Sunday Morning and Evening Services—10:30 AM and 6:00 PM
Every Sunday morning and Sunday evening, the main Sunday preaching service is held in the sanctuary with Pastor Ruffin Hill. When you come in, a friendly usher will greet you and help you find a seat. We believe in having a church service where we worship God, sing uplifting hymns and spiritual songs that will prepare our hearts for the preaching of the Word of God from Pastor Hill.

Singing and Special Music
Every service gives you an opportunity to join us in singing hymns and spiritual songs. In the back of every pew you will find a hymnal to join in the singing. You’ll enjoy the music as others sing special music during the service.

Prayer
We believe in prayer. During the service, prayers are led by some of our men. These prayers will be requests of our church family and friends, others will praise and thank God for His grace and goodness.

Preaching
We are convinced the preaching of the Word of God to be the most important time of the service, 1 Corinthians 1:32 “...it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” The best encouragement you can get in any problem of life is from the Bible and through preaching we find help.

Invitation
At the end of the preaching, Pastor Hill will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time to respond to God's Word and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. The decision for some will be to trust Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Others will make decisions of a personal nature. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you. There will be men and women available to pray for you and with you.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study Youth Group —7:30 PM
Bible study takes place every week at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary of Gospel Light church. This is a time during the week when the church meets to learn practical truths from the Bible taught by Pastor Hill. You will learn truths that will help you in every area of life. At the same time our youth ages 5 - 17 meet in our education building. They are divided by age in classes where they are taught the Bible by our faithful youth workers.
